With respect to the education of third culture children: acted as a consultant. keynote speaker, workshop presenter at particular schools and regional organizations assisted by the Office of Overseas Schools (A/OS) of the U.S. Department of State; acted as a consultant to and gave special presentations to schools which come under the U.S. Department of Defense (DoDDS); have consulted with boards and administrators of Protestant- and Catholic-related overseas schools and given special presentations to students, their parents and teachers in these schools; have played similar roles in schools under the aegis of multinational corporations; have worked with local school systems in Michigan which are educating children of overseas nationals.

With respect to assuring equal opportunities for women of all nationalities and backgrounds to be highly educated: Michigan State University, President Mackey's Ad Hoc Committee on Title IX; Michigan State University, President Wharton's Women's Advisory Council; American Council on Education, Commission on the Education of Women; University of Minnesota; West Virginia University; Earlham College; National Association of Women Deans and Counselors; Purdue University; University of Michigan; and many conferences.

With respect to the international exchange of students in higher education for the end of educating individuals for creating and assuming roles in both developing and developed countries and in transnational and multinational organizations whose purposes are relating nations and segments thereof, including the international scientific community, in an increasingly interdependent and conflictive world: American Association for the Advancement of Science, Office of International Science, member of organizing committee and preparation of position paper for the African Regional Seminar on the Role of Scientific and Engineering Societies in Development (Ivory Coast, December 10-13, 1984); Core Member of Michigan State University's Center for the Advanced Study of International Development; Research Institute of Higher Education and Development in Singapore (Regional Institute of the Association of South East Asian Nations [ASEAN]) Research Institute of Higher Education. University of Hiroshima, Japan; Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (German Academic Exchange Service) sponsored consultation with scholars and administrators engaged in cross-cultural research on the international mobility of the highly-educated and visited a number of academic centers and exchange programs in Germany; National Association of Foreign Student Affairs, a number of different advisory roles particularly related to the use of research in designing and implementing programs; Council of International Exchange of Scholars (Senior Fulbright Program), Council Member, Executive Committee, East Asia Advisory Committee; Institute for International Education (Junior Fulbright and other exchange programs) Member of the Committee for Educational Interchange Policy; Hazen Foundation, Advisory Committee on Study of African Students Educated Abroad, etc.
